Fudge. This one little word can put a smile on so many faces. What’s not to like about a decadent little piece of chocolate heaven, that melts in your mouth? A rich, just the right bite of something sweet, that hits the spot ?…..now that I have your attention..(lol). I added a twist to this classic sweet confection, making smooth, creamy peanut butter the star. Dusting it with just the right amount of salt on top, to give a sweet and salty flavor that elevates this peanut butter fudge to be a show stopper for your next gathering. This recipe I’m sharing with you is based off of Mary Younkin ” Bare feet in the Kitchen” with a slight modification.

With just five staple pantry items ( creamy peanut butter, salt, powdered sugar, Vanilla extract , and unsalted butter) and a little bit of time, you can whip these beauties up fairly quickly ,pop em in the fridge, and in a few hours..viola!

I have provided microwave and stovetop directions . I used the stovetop method. I guess i’m old school at heart. ( awwwww).

Let’s get started !!!!!

Grease an 8″- 9″ pan with butter. I used my 8″ square glass pan.
Combine peanut butter, butter, and vanilla in a medium size saucepan over medium-low heat. I like to cube up my buttrer to make the melting process quicker.
Stir to combine until evenly incorporated. Remove the pan from heat and slowly add the powdered sugar stiring to combine thoroughly.
Scoop the Fudge mixture into the greased pan pressing down evenly. Here’s the exciting part. Ready? evenly sprinkle about a teaspoon of salt on top of the fudge. I happened to have fine grain pink Himalayan salt on hand. You can use kosher salt, sea salt, flakey sea salt. you can even use more salt if that’s what you’re into…Go wild! pop it in the fridge for about four hours before cutting into squares.

Arrange on a pretty plate and watch these babies disappear! you can store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container. If you even have any ! I’m telling ya, they are that good!
